PATIENT-ORIENTED INNOVATIONS OF DENTAL MATERIALS TECHNOLOGY IN DENTAL TREATMENT WITH REMOVABLE AND NON-REMOVABLE CONSTRUCTIONS

Abstract

The existing classifications of dental materials can be used only when determining “related” selection of dental materials, since in each case of orthopedic treatment factors that restrict physician in the selection is the availability of various dental materials in the health care facilities and, directly, individual factors of the patient. Thus, a dentist-orthopedist solves the issue of “related” selection of dental materials on his own in each case of treatment planning.

The modern unsolved problem of dental materials science is the lack of compliant-oriented developments, namely regarding orthopedic structures. Any of the instructions for using dental materials does not define the “related” list, in which the particular material can be used. Solution to this problem is the development and implementation of qualimetric approach to the existing and new dental materials, followed by the formation of a high level of their compliant complexes.

As you know, each dental material is characterized by its own compliance to the requirements of ISO and under specific qualimetric indices determining the general qualimetric index of the construction. Accordingly, the most compliant dental materials are those that in the “related” selection at the stages of manufacturing prosthetic restoration define (provide) the highest rates of order (compliance) of the “material-construction” system. Thus, the basic and consistent components of individualized system of quality assurance for prosthetic restoration are:

  1. Medical and organizational level (qualification of the dentist, the level of providing the institution with specific dental materials).
  2. Clinical and information level (a selection of the technologically “related” list of dental materials for making particular constructions with the required level of compliance of the “material-construction” system; innovative and methodological, and scientific and methodological methods of manufacturing orthopedic constructions techniques).

III. Clinical and technological level (properties of dental materials and conditions of performing the clinical and laboratory phase).

  1. Individual level (a type of the construction, indications and contraindications of using specific dental materials in a particular patient).

Obtained in the research data analysis of 10206 “material-construction” systems supports the fact that only through qualimetric reasonable selection of the material level of the compliance of the “material-construction” system, depending on the type of dentures, may rise from 18.2% to 36.5%. The compliance of materials for manufacturing bugel dentures is characterized by the largest reserves of improvement (36.5%); removable orthopedic constructions – by the lowest one (18.2%).The compliance of the “material-construction” system when manufacturing fixed dentures by harmonized selection of dental materials can be increased by 31.1%.

As a result of this research, scientific achievements in order to select compliant dental materials for manufacturing specific orthopedic constructions, principles and logics of development and results of clinical application of a special program selection of the compliant “material-construction” systems, as well as author's innovative developments in the field of dental materials science have been enlightened.
